Thank you for visiting the websites of PHAIDRA. The operation and development of PHAIDRA and its related services is carried out at the University of Vienna. As such, the Data Protection Declaration of the University of Vienna forms the legal basis for all of PHAIDRA's websites and services.

Discourse is an open source platform for community discussions. We run own our self-hosted instance of discourse for the PHAIDRA community.

Data Collection of Visitors

Our Discourse forum collects a few data points from visitors to improve the experience of forum visitors, namely:

  • how often a user profile has been viewed
  • how often a post has been viewed
  • how often a link within a post has been clicked
  • reading times per post

No Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is collected in this process.

Data Collection of Registered Users

When you decide to register to our forum, we collect these additional data points:

  • username
  • e-mail address
  • registration IP address
  • name (optional)
  • password, always stored in an encrypted (hashed) form
  • your forum contributions (posts, responses, likes, flags requested, ...)

Your email is only used for account verification and to notify you about forum activities (which can be manually configured or turned off).


d) plausible.phaidra.org

Plausible Analytics is an open source , privacy focused site analytics tool. Our self-hosted plausible instance is publicly accessible.

Plausible does not collect any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) . We still disclose our use of plausible for user transparency.
